Piano Duet (two players at one piano) - based on traditional dance forms, the collection includes a joyous waltz in the style of Ravel, a rhythmic Branle (a 16th Century French dance form), a tender lullaby, and a fast-paced Ritornelle. The centerpiece of the work is a haunting love song. The first performance was given in March 1996 by the San Diego Ballet. The following year SDB again performed the work to launch their annual Valentine's Day program. "A fresh, neo-romantic score with clarity and wit dry as good champagne."
